The Jan van Haasteren family visits the Cheese Market in Alkmaar and participates in the Skûtsjesiel competition in Friesland. The Cheese Market: Twice a week, you can visit the Cheese Market in Alkmaar, a major tourist attraction that the Jan van Haasteren family also enjoys. It seems as if Baron van Tast’s fantasy has become reality this time. Curling at a cheese market, drums made of cheese? It couldn’t be more crazy! Skûtsjesilen: Skûtsjesilen are Frisian sailing competitions with skûtsjes, traditional sailing ships built for the Frisian waters. My mother-in-law wanted to take the helm during a competition, but she has her own ideas about her crew and the competition rules! We’re proud that our puzzles are made from recycled cardboard in Europe. To cut the cardboard into puzzle pieces, we use the thinnest knife available. The puzzle looks almost seamless when finished.
